A painful birthday present

I’m stressed out these days whenever my birthday comes. I get a lot of birthday congratulatory messages from all over the place, and I’m so grateful. But the problem seems to be the gifts that come with the messages.

Some people might say, “This kid is full,” but I’ll have to return it all later.. And if it’s a gift like Starbucks or chicken, I’ll probably use it someday, but I often get diffusers or hand washes, but men don’t really use these things.

I’m so grateful, but I have to return all the gifts I received, and there are some who get upset when I send them something cheaper than what they received. So I have to give them something more expensive. It’s burdensome because the cost of birthday celebrations seems to exceed a million won a year. In the past, I would have pretended not to know and quietly let it go, but these days, Kakao kindly informs all my friends of their birthdays.

Even the ones who gave me gifts were marked separately, so the excuse that I didn’t know doesn’t work anymore. Of course, there’s a recent gift rejection button, so I can cancel it, but how do I reject a gift that was sent to me with common sense? But after the usage period, I can get a 90% refund to my account, If I receive this in money, the other person can check it, and if they find out later, They’ll say, “I didn’t like the gift, so tell me?” and be really upset,,,, It’s good to send gifts easily, but I miss the days when I used to say, “Hey, it’s your birthday, right? I’ll buy you a meal” like my friends when I was young.

Glasses technology in Korea

They say our country is the country that produces glasses the fastest in the world It’s too fast

That’s understandable. In the US or Europe, it usually takes more than two weeks to get a pair of glasses, but in Korea, it’s not even two days, but 5-10 minutes is enough. ㅎㅎ

In other countries, the optometry that tests the refractive index and the processing of eyeglass lenses are separate, so if you take the test and take the test paper to an optician, the optician places an order with the lens manufacturer, assembles it with the eyeglass frame, and delivers it to the consumer.

That’s why they say that each cost is incurred, but in Korea, in the 1980s, the number of myopic people increased, and when the national qualification system for opticians was implemented, all of this could be done at an optician’s shop.

In addition, our country had the world’s best eyeglass manufacturing infrastructure, and these environments and eyeglass stores emphasized their speed as their competitive edge, and to exaggerate a little, they were able to produce eyeglasses as fast as coffee.

Popular strawberries in Southeast Asia

Bread, cake, shaved ice, ice cream, yogurt, etc. Strawberries go well with all desserts, but it seems that Southeast Asia has discovered this strawberry flavor.

The Southeast Asian region is also called a tropical fruit paradise because it has many delicious fruits that are not found in our country, but it is said that strawberries are not grown there. However, due to the Korean Wave, fruits began to be in the spotlight along with Korean food in Southeast Asian regions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, and as they began to gain explosive popularity as premium fruits, our strawberries became a hit.

In the past, most of the seeds were from Japan, but as a result of continuous research on varieties, 95% of the seeds, including Seolhyang, Geumsil, and Kingsberry, are produced and exported as domestic varieties. Recently, they are recording an annual growth rate of over 20% and are said to be the number one exporter among Asian countries. In addition, strawberries are easy to spoil, so they were even sent by plane.

Recently, with the development and application of container-type CA technology that enables fresh transport, exports are said to be expanding as longer-term long-distance transport becomes possible.

Kakao personal information leak

Not long ago, there was an incident where Kakao Pay, used by 40 million people, leaked personal information to Ali. It was an incident that only those who knew about it knew about and passed it over quietly. I intentionally did not install Ali or Temu because I was afraid that my personal information would be leaked, but in the end…

I knew Kakao Pay would do that. As expected, they illegally handed over the information without the customer’s consent. But why did Kakao suddenly hand over personal information to Ali?

They were trying to enter the Apple App Store. But Apple requests customer data from payment companies that want to enter the store, and the data is created by reprocessing customer personal information. Kakao Pay outsourced the reprocessing work to an Alipay affiliate, and it was all sold off…. But they said they didn’t provide the reprocessed information to Apple… It’s ridiculous.

There are rumors that it was provided because Kakao Pay’s major shareholder is Alipay, but even if they have a stake in Ali, why would they hand over customer information?? It seems like Kakao has really gone too far… I think this kind of situation keeps happening because they punish people leniently when it comes to security. Now, it seems like the personal information of Korean citizens is just international personal information…

Agricultural technology in our country

Potatoes are delicious no matter how you eat them, whether fried, pancakes, stir-fried, or croquettes, and they are delicious no matter where you put them.

These potatoes are native to the Andes, but now our country is introducing potato farming.

Potatoes are so common and familiar to us that they may not seem difficult to grow, but they are actually quite tricky. Potatoes reproduce vegetatively, so we plant potatoes instead of seeds to grow them.

Even if we store seed potatoes, if they get infected, they will be passed on to the next generation, and if they spread, there is no answer.

So the key is to produce disease-free seed potatoes and store them safely. Our country is the first country in the world to develop hydroponic cultivation technology that can produce and propagate disease-free seed potatoes in the early 1990s.

Potatoes were a precious food that appeased the hunger of our people during the famine times, and due to our national characteristics, we never see anyone starving.

Our country has been providing seed potatoes and farming methods to 20 countries in Central America, South America, and Africa that are suffering from famine and food shortages, and is appeasing their hunger.

They even went to Ecuador, located in the Andes Mountains, the origin of potatoes, and increased potato production by 40% in one fell swoop,

solving the food shortage.. How far can Koreans go?? ㅎㅎ

Highway color guide lines

Did you know that there were no colored guide lines on the road until 2010?? Even though there were navigation systems, many drivers were confused and many accidents occurred because of it,

but a public official from the road construction company solved it with a single line.

At the time, when a fatal accident occurred at the Ansan Junction, where the roads were complicated and accidents were frequent,

it is said that he was instructed to come up with measures to help elementary school students know the way.

He said that he got the idea after seeing his children drawing with crayons at home. In Korea,

colored guide lines were used in places like subways and hospitals, but at the time, the use of color was restricted by the Road Traffic Act.

However, despite this, officials in charge actively pushed for reducing accidents, and a pilot application was made at the Ansan Junction where a fatal accident occurred in 2011.

The number of accidents, which had been over 20 per year, decreased to 3. It was later expanded nationwide, and it is said that there are currently over 900 locations.

According to one statistic, accidents at highway junctions and interchanges have decreased by 27%, and at intersections in Seoul, they have decreased by a whopping 50%,

so they are called the lifeline of the road. Last May, the road construction worker who first applied colored guidance lines to roads in Korea was recognized for his achievements and received a national medal.

It seems fortunate that there are such public servants who are dedicated to the country and its people. ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

Koreans love iced americano

Koreans really like cold food. They say cold water is so bad, so why do they like it so much?

In our country, we started eating frozen yogurt with the baby, and put ice in noodles, and even in winter, we go to Sulbing to eat shaved ice, and even if we freeze to death,

we drink iced Americano. We are a country that is serious about cold food.

Even foreign countries that used to hate iced Americano are now starting to drink it, calling it K-culture. It is said that Koreans drink an average of 353 cups of coffee a year,

which is twice the global average, and 76% of them drink cold coffee. Even in January, when the cold is at its peak, more than 50% drink iced coffee.

After seeing this, foreign media introduced iced Americano as our country’s unofficial national drink, using words like “eoljuk-ah” and “a-ah.” At this point,

it seems like it should be called Koreano, not Americano. Eoljuk-ah was our country’s unique coffee culture

In recent years, as the consumption of cold drinks has begun to increase among young people overseas, the American media has been reporting news such as,

“It’s iced coffee season all year round.” and “Americans are obsessed with iced coffee.” 45% of young people in their 20s who enjoy drinking coffee drink iced coffee every day,

and Starbucks’ cold drink sales account for 75%, a whopping double that of 10 years ago. It seems like the cause of our country’s culture of being cold is the culture of being fast,

fast, but isn’t it actually because we’re angry at the state of our country these days?

People in the vegetable

Koreans eat everything well. Except for things they can’t eat, they eat everything. In fact, they seem to eat things they can’t eat.

Vegetables are a typical example.. They stir-fry them, boil them, and eat them… It’s the first full moon of the lunar year. Have you eaten five-grain rice?

Vegetables with five-grain rice.. It’s the icing on the cake, and my mouth is watering all of a sudden.

Back to the main topic, among the vegetables, Bracken fern, which contains carcinogens, is soaked and boiled and eaten, and the burdock,

which is poisonous and causes headaches, diarrhea, and vomiting, is boiled in salt water and eaten, and the coneflower, which causes food poisoning, is only eaten when young before it becomes poisonous.

Even in ancient times, there were detailed records of vegetables that could be eaten and how to eat them in the emergency relief and poetry tour, etc.

Jeong Yak-yong’s second son, Jeong Ha-gyu, wrote a farmer’s training song, and he was so serious about vegetables that he compared vegetables to the taste of meat.

t was because there was nothing to eat at the time, but since no other country had such a developed vegetable culture, it’s even more surprising.

In the West, herbs and vegetables are eaten, but compared to our country, they are very few and are mostly used for medicinal purposes. In Asia, people enjoy eating wild greens relatively,

but even in China, where they eat all kinds of food, Chwinamul is registered as a cosmetic ingredient and Gondre is registered as a medicine.

Now, the Korean food craze is blowing all over the world, but the demand for our wild greens is not increasing.

It is said that the reason is that they do not pass the safety evaluation because there is no basis for eating them… Wild greens are so delicious… ㅎㅎ
