These days, there are too many shopping malls that force their company policies on consumers. They say, “Customer, exchanges and refunds are not allowed during the sale period.”
That’s a lie. It is impossible to legally prevent exchanges and refunds for online product sales.
But when fashion brands have sales, they completely limit exchanges and refunds because the discount rate is so high.
Is it really true that exchanges and refunds are not possible? No. According to the Electronic Commerce Act, if you purchase a product online, you can exchange or refund it within 7 days,
regardless of what clause the seller has posted. In particular, purchase contracts that are disadvantageous to consumers, such as order cancellation or prohibition of return,
are invalid, so it is illegal to announce that exchange or refund is not possible. In my experience, I once bought a handmade shoe on sale, but the size did not fit and it was obvious that it was not handmade.
So when I asked for a refund, they said that they had already notified me that it was handmade and that I had purchased it at a discounted price.

I called the Korea Consumer Agency right away, told them the site name, and applied for damage relief. About 30 minutes later, they called and said, “I’m sorry.
I’ll give you a refund.” Please call the Consumer Agency and tell them that you received a refund. I think it’s because if you violate the Consumer Act and do business,
you can be suspended from business or fined. If something like mine happens to you, I hope you file a complaint with the Consumer Agency to protect your rights.
