A phenomenon that appears as you age An online study found that people stop listening to new music on average after the age of 33

According to the analysis of Spotify data by Kalia, an ajusshi who runs a music research site,

Kalia says that teenagers are fascinated by pop music, but as they pass their 20s, their interest gradually decreases,

and their music tastes mature in their 30s. However, women’s interest in pop music lasted from at least 13 years old to at most 49 years old,

while men’s interest rapidly decreased from their teens to their early 30s.

It is said that this is due to the lock-in effect, where people choose the original service or product even if it is better than the service

or product they were using before due to the investment cost or inconvenience.

So, in Kalia, there are two reasons why we listen to less new music as we get older.

1. When people get older and encounter unfamiliar music, they tend to dismiss it as music that only teenagers listen to.

2. People tend to look for music that they enjoyed when they were younger. Come to think of it,

I also stopped listening to songs at some point and only listen to familiar ones. What do you think?
